A programme of live performances by Campbell & Morris Projects
The performance artists involved in HUMAN RESOURCES were selected for their particular relevance or total discordance with the new office block space which played host to V22 Collection's ‘Don’t Open This Door If You Can’t Close It’ in October 2008.
The atrium of the Wenlock Building became a kind of amphitheater for a variety of eccentric live performances throughout the day.
I presented a dramatic staging of a work entitled Anti-Frieze, which used sounds recorded in supermarkets. Lee Campbell presented an abstract performance using absurd lyrics and bizarre reference points. Di Di Lin invited a group of actors to perform a strange tale about a girl from the woods. Robert Luzar asked the audience to gather around and watch him make tiny ink drawings. Sarah Bowker - Jones installed a temporary sculpture reaching up through the floors of the building. Duncan Ward poured hot coffee over his body in a performance inspired by medieval ceremonies. Peter Bond deliver an eccentric monologue inspired by his surroundings. Sam Curtis invited people to watch two hired cleaners tidy and vacuum the performance space. Meanwhile, Calum F. Kerr and Adrian Lee roamed the corridors of the building dressed as security guards, interacting with visitors as they browsed the other exhibits.
