Anti-Frieze is science fiction audio drama made using recordings from my local supermarket in 2007.
I read a lot of science fiction when I was growing up. Now I am grown up it feels like I am already living in the future and I don't have robot slaves or a bio-dome, all that I got was some new features on my mobile phone. Though I am disappointed that I don't have a flying car, I sometimes like to think about all the weird stuff we do have already, such as eBay and supermarket loyalty cards. What are these things?
Anti-Frieze was shorlisted in the Audio/Music category for the London International Creative Competition 2008.
Anti-Frieze was later staged as a live performance piece. This series of illustrated posters were made to be displayed on walls, ceiling and floors in venue where the work was to be performed. Anti-Frieze was performed at Concrete & Glass Festival and V22's Wharf Road Project.
