Frog Morris

Frog Morris is an artist, performer, curator and designer.

Frog Morris grew up in a small village called Blo’ Norton in rural Norfolk, England. He studied Graphic Fine Art at Kent Institute of Art and Design in Canterbury (now U.C.A.) and Masters of Fine Art at Goldsmiths College. His art has since appeared in museums, galleries and other venues across Europe. He has worked alongside some of Britain’s best loved contemporary performance artists, including Bob & Roberta Smith, Gary Stevens, Kim Noble and Mark McGowan.

There is an unavoidable Englishness to his art practice. Frog Morris celebrates those moments of British culture that leave us unsure whether to laugh or cry.

Frog Morris is an artist with a passion for experimenting with forms of light entertainment. His shows feature poems, songs, stories, music, jokes, political rants, dances, videos, drawings, publications, puppets, vegetables, fish and occasional brief scenes of nudity. The audience are usually left unsure about what to expect next from him.

Frog Morris has also curated many exhibitions and event including the Frogstock Festival in Norfolk and a program of live events for Whitstable Biennale 2008. Frog Morris can also be seen hosting his own regular variety show at the Montague Arms in New Cross on the second Thursday of very month. His events have earned a loyal following and helped launch many unusual artists and performers, including Mr B the Gentleman Rhymer.

Frog Morris currently lives in London with his wife Victoria.
